Teena Marie Remembered

Teena Marie Memorial Service


On January 10, 2011, a private memorial service for R &B singer Teena Marie was held at Los Angeles' Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Motown legends Berry Gordy, Smokey Robinson and Stevie Wonder paid tribute to the former Motown star.   Other stars in attendance were Queen Latifah,  Shirley Murdock,  Shanice Wilson, Flex Alexander, Deniece Williams , Kim Whitley and Tichina Arnold. Reports say that her daughter also spoke at the service.

Teena Marie died on December 26, 2010 at age 54.  It was reported that a public memorial is in the works for this awesome artist.  Teena Marie has left a string of soulful hits such as Square Biz, Ooo La La La,  Behind the groove, I need your loving and Fire & Desire the awesome duet with Rick James. RIP Teena,  thanks for inspiring us through song. Your music will live on!
